1. Gateway to Working Life 22.-24.1.

Are you looking for summer job? Or place for internship? What about company to make your thesis for? Come to Gateway to Working Life event in January!

Gateway to Working Life recruiting event is event where organizations come to TAMK to meet their future talents. The organizations are offering different kinds of work, internship and thesis opportunities for students plus a chance to communicate with them. Tamko and sub-associations are bringing a great amount of companies to TAMK’s main campus 23.-25.1. from different sectors. 

Gateway to Working Life event days:

23.1. Social services and health care, Business administration and hospitality management
24.1. Technology and ICT
25.1. Technology

Event hours are 10am – 2pm during all three days and the event is free.
There will be also free CV-photoshoot, CV-clinic and interesting seminars at the event, welcome!

2. Inssikyykkä 4.2.

TIRO ry, together with the technique clubs, is offering you the chance to play kyykkä. In addition to fame and glory, there are some great prizes, for example a ticket to the World Championship of academic kyykkä, Inssibeerpong and a T-itse lab, not forgetting some one starred! There will also be sausages, either meat or vegan, juice and hot chocolate on site. If you want to spice up your hot chocolate, you should bring your own minttu.

So gather a team of four (4) people and arrive on 4.2 at 09.30am at the Solu parking lot! A team place costs 20 € / team.

The new year brings new restaurants and tasty student discounts to the bustle of Tampere. These are some of the tasty student benefits that the new restaurants brought, get the discounts with Tamko’s student card!


1. TAQUERIA EL LOCO

Taqueria El Loco is a Mexican street food restaurant in Tammela’s new stadium. The best of Mexican street food and drinks, from beers to margaritas. In Taqueria, you can experience not only taste sensations but also a touch of the colour delight of Mexican culture.


2. BECK’S BAR & GRILL

Beck’s Bar &; Grill is located on Salhojankatu, next to the new Tammela Stadium. Beck’s serves food prepared in the glow of a charcoal grill and relaxed togetherness in a warm setting with quality drinks and hospitable service.

3. BISTRO & CAFÉ SALHO

Tasty and homemade lunch that changes daily from 10.30 am to 2 pm. The selection also includes specialty coffees, wines, sweet and savoury café products as well as bistro dishes from the à la carte menu, and on weekends Salho offers a delicious brunch on Sat 11–15 and Sun 12–16.

4. Career Week at TAMK

Career week organized for TAMK students will take place at the beginning of this year on January 16–18th, 2024. Welcome to join us in useful trainings and workshops with the common themes of career planning and job seeking.

During Career week of 2024, you have a chance to prepare for job hunt. You’ll get to learn how to convince an employer with expertise portfolio or video CV, what are the most important things to understand when you apply for work in Finland, and how you can get the most out of using LinkedIn. Events and workshops will be held mostly at TAMK’s main campus. There will be activities both in English and in Finnish.

You are warmly welcome to join one or all of the events – and bring your friend, too. For international students, Career Boost Clinic by International House Tampere is especially designed for you so don’t miss out!

5. SportUni open house 8.-14.1.

During the week of Open House, all SportUni services are free of charge, and you can try different sports during the opening hours of the customer services. You can come to the gyms, try group exercise classes, or come to play different ball games such as badminton or basketball. 

For group exercise classes and badminton shifts, sign up with Tuni IDs from SportUni selection calendar. You may bring one person outside of Tuni community to play badminton with you. If your playing partner is not a member of SportUni he/she needs to pay a one-visit-fee, 7 euros. 

When you arrive, show your student/staff card at the reception of SportUni Centre. 

Enrolment on SportUni courses starts also 8 Jan. Notice that if you want to enrol on courses, your SportUni fee has to be paid.
