“Small Changes, Better Student Life”
- Improving the student lunch
- Making students’ voices heard
Hi! I’m Zulqarnain Haider, and I am running for the TAMKO elections. I believe that changing students’ lives doesn’t always require massive transformations. Often, the most significant changes come from the ideas proposed by students themselves, reflecting their everyday experiences and concerns. My goal is to empower students to have a stronger voice in decisions that affect their education, health, and campus life. Every student has valuable ideas, opinions, and concerns, and I believe these should be expressed and heard. Together, we can make student life a little better, one step at a time. Small Changes, Better Student Life.

I’ve served on my subject association’s board, an experience that sparked my desire to run for the Student Council and make a real impact! Student well-being and mental health are issues I care deeply about. Mental well-being is crucial for academic progress and play a huge part in enjoying their time at school. That’s why I want to ensure that every student has easy access to help for well-being-related challenges. I also want to advocate for better public transport from a student perspective! You should vote for me because I have a genuine desire to make a difference, and I’m not afraid to speak my mind! I also possess strong negotiation skills, so I don’t view a challenge as an obstacle or even a setback—but rather as the starting point for a negotiation 😉

35 Hanna-Marie Kontio
Degree Programme in Network Learning and Competencies
- Developing student community
- Making students’ voices heard
I am Hanna, second year VETO student. I live in Tampere with my boyfriend and three ladies (a cat and two leopard geckos). Originally I come from Vantaa but my whole family comes from South Ostrobothnia where I have spent most of my summer vacations as a child. I love nature, music, my family, cultures, history, videogames and everything creative from drawing to playing the piano. In my former school I worked as a team leader for my classmates. Through that I gained the spark for leading and guiding people. I have been a tutor since August, and it has finally made me realise that my place is with the people in a guidance role. I have always valued justice and tried my best to take everyone into account. This side of me is even more recognizable when I work in tasks that require even a tiny bit of leadership. This is also the reason why I decided to apply for Tamko’s Council. I want our school’s community to be more united. I want everyone to have an equal opportunity to be a part of our community and thus help improve the well-being of our students. These themes would push me forward in the Council. When it comes to justice, nothing can stop me.
