A Council meeting was held on the 7th of February 2024 in auditorium E1-06 of TAMK’s main campus. The Council discussed, among other things, Gateway to Working Life, Election of a student member of the University Council, selection of the student representative of the Examination board.

6§ News from the Council’s Chairpersons
In addition to the day-to-day activities of the board, the Chairpersons of the Council have participated in meeting with TAMK management team, organisation of winter Tursajaiset, Council’s orientation, Gateaway to Working Life and SAMOK’s kick-off cruise. The Chairpersons of the Council have had meeting with Chairpersons of the board about current topics. Have had social media-day together on board’s social media week.
7§ News from the Board
In addition to board meetings, evening schools, working group meetings, and meetings with management team, Tamko’s board has organized Talvitursajaiset. The Chairpersons of the board has met with Tamko’s management team and other key stakeholders on current issues and has had meetings with, among others, the City of Tampere and TREY. Tutoring and International Affairs Representatives have made tutor selections and organized a welcome week for exchange students. Education and Wellbeing representatives has prepared harassment contact person training and participated in SAMOK’s advocacy training. The events sector has planned events for the upcoming year and has been in meetings with partners. The communications team has coordinated both the Portti Työelämään social media communication and Tamko’s social media days. The stakeholder relations representative has worked on sub-association training and participated in exchange student information sessions with the international affairs representative.

We reviewed the Gateaway to Working Life event 2024. The fair coordinator, Kati Tuomisto, presented the event and its finances..
9§ The fair coordinators fee
The payment of the fair coordinator’s fee for the Gateaway to Working Life event was brought to attention.
10§ Withdrawal from Student Union’s investments
To balance Tamko’s finances, it was decided to make withdrawal of 40 000€ from the investments
11§ Election of a student member of the University Council
The University Council has two student members, and due to the graduation of one member, a new person needs to be proposed for the position on the University Council.
The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the board have interviewed all three applicants, and the board has discussed them in its meeting.
Emma Kaunismaa was selected as the student member of the University Council.
12§ The selection of the student representative for the Examination Board.
The Examination Board has one student representative position, and due to the graduation of the current representative, a new person needs to be proposed for the Examination Board.

Saila Viheriälä was selected as the student representative for the Examination Board, with Berfin Üstün appointed as her personal alternate.
