1. Welcome to Council’s organization meeting 22.11.!

Welcome to the Council’s organization meeting on 22th of November 2022 at 4:30 pm in the E1-06 auditorium of TAMK’s main campus. All members of Tamko can attend the meeting.

At this meeting, the new Council will be organized. The new Council elects the Chairpersons for the council and the board and decides on the composition of the board for 2023. Welcome!

2. Run for Tamko’s Board

Are you intrested in students’ wellbeing, advcacy or tutoring? What about internationality, co-operations, events or communications? If you said yes, come to develop and influence student life by applying for Tamko’s Board 2023!

Tamko’s Board for year 2023 is elected in Tuesday 22.11.2022 in the organizational meeting of the new Council starting at 16.30 at TAMK’s main campus E0-06 auditorium. Join the meeting and run for Tamko’s Board! You do not need to have previous organizational experience and any Tamko member can run for the Board, but please note that Board’s working language is Finnish. The new Board will be properly briefed before the beginning of the Board term.

3. OverallHangouts TODAY!

The theme for Hangouts in November is overalls! Almost all students have overalls and many beginning students have already received them. And now is the perfect opportunity to make your overalls perfect! So arrive at Solu’s sauna on 21.11. at 5pm! During the evening, patches are sewn and there is an opportunity to customize the overalls to make them more suitable, for example, by shortening the legs or adding a rib! And if you need more patches, it is possible to buy Tamko’s overall patches.

During the evening, there’s all kinds of snacks and drinks are available, as well as your own snacks are allowed! You can also go to the sauna to relax. Just remember to bring your own towel and stuff!

Hangouts is a nonalcoholic and free event for Tamko’s members.

The event will be stamped on the Tursaspassi under “Participate in a chillout”.

4.  What does accessibility at TAMK mean for you – ask and comment 

This week is an accessibility theme week at TAMK – welcome to join! How does accessibility show to you? Or does it? What should we do to develop accessibility at TAMK? The accessibility actors in our Universities community together with the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) have prepared a pallet of possibilities to ask, hear and discuss various aspects to accessibility. The draft of TAMK’s accessibility plan is open and available for comments.

5. Study & Stay Christmas party

Are you interested in getting to know Finnish Christmas traditions while making new friends? Would you like to practice your Finnish skills in a relaxed atmosphere? Are you looking for new ways to network and create contacts? All of this is possible when joining in our festive activities! A warm welcome to join the Study and Stay Christmas party!

The Study & Stay Christmas party enables international and local students to get to know one another while getting into the holiday mood by making Christmas cards, decorating gingerbread cookies and listening live music, all together! 

Join to meet other students and enjoy relaxed company! 

The event will take place on Monday 28th of November 2022 at TAMK’s Puolikuu-space, on Main Campus (B0-floor, Kuntokatu 3) at 17-19.

6. CLINT: PRE Christmas Party 30.11.

Are you craving for Christmas pastries or you cannot wait to decorate gingerbreads? No worries! Clint organizes the best pre-Christmas party you don’t want to miss on 30.11. at Foundation. To remember this night forever, you will get a Christmassy overall patch. We will host a Secret Santa at the party, so bring a wrapped gift worth of approximately 5 euros, you will get one random present back from someone else.

We will start the Christmas celebration with fun activities and games at 18:00 and the party starts around 21:00. If you want to participate for the Secret Santa, be there latest at 20:00! Some snacks and drinks are offered, but bring your own drinks so you have enough energy to party until the morning

7. First-year student, have you already answered the HealthStart questionnaire?

If you started completing your first degree at an institution of higher education this academic year, you can answer the HealthStart questionnaire on the Self online service.

After completing the HealthStart questionnaire, you’ll receive immediate feedback on your state of health and may be referred for health promotion services provided by the FSHS.

8. When looking for an internship or summer job, we at Career Services are ready to help you

TAMK Career Services provide personal career counseling for all TAMK students free of charge. We support students in transitions into working life, whether during studies or upon graduation.

You can get support for example in:
· Updating your CV, cover letter and LinkedIn-profile
· Searching and applying for jobs
· Identifying your skills and searching for hidden jobs
· Gaining more experience in job interviews (interview simulator) You can book a personal career counseling from TAMK Jobteaser-service appointments -section.

We organize a Walk-in Job Search Clinic at Parvi (B1-24) every Thursday from 1pm to 3 pm. At Parvi you can do independent job search and consult our career counselors on how to improve your CV and other job search documents. Please check the online Parvi calendar for possible exceptions in the timetable. You can also send us your CV for comments in: careerservices.tamk@tuni.fi
