1. Electronic voting in Tamko’s Council elections starts this Wednesday!

Tamko’s Council Election candidates have been published and there are 48 candidates from 5 candidate lists. The electronic voting for Tamko’s Council elections begins on Wednesday 26.10.2022 at 10 AM. Meanwhile you can check out more information about the candidates from Tamko’s website and find the most suitable candidate for you: https://tamko.fi/students-union/council/council-election-candidates-2023/

The electronic voting takes place via email link. The link will be sent to TUNI email for all Tamko members who are eligible to vote in the Council elections.

2. Would you like to become a Degree tutor?!

Have you thought about becoming a tutor? If you answered yes, we have good news for you: enrolment for degree tutoring is now on!

Degree tutors are helping out new degree students of TAMK. They are playing an important part in integrating new students to Tampere and Finland. The training aims to train foreign students to work as degree tutors with their Finnish peer tutor colleagues. Degree tutors will meet the group once a month during the academic year 2023-2024. All the applicants will be interviewed during the autumn and the trainings will take place on the spring semester 2023. Tutors will gain new friendships and study credits: sounds like a great deal, huh?

3. Become international tutor!

Come to welcome new exchange student arriving on January to TAMK and apply to become International Tutor. As International tutor you will help the exchange student to relocate to Tampere and Finnish student life. International tutoring is a great way to network and get new friends from around the world. You’ll get 2 study credits and an extra point from international

tutoring if you’re going to study abroad as an exchange student yourself. The application period will and 6th of November, so apply now!

There will be two training sessions organized by Tamko during autumn 2023 on 15th and 17th of November.

4. Join the activities organized by Peer Coaches

Would you like to have some support for your studies? Or have you transported to TAMK from some other University and would like to meet new people? Join the activities organized by Peer Coaches!

Peer Coaching is form of peer guidance at TAMK, that welcomes everyone who could support to join.

Coaches are fellow students who have been trained to work as Peer Coaches. They organize both one on one meetings and group meetings. You can apply if you have some issues or if you just want to meet new people or participate example in a study group. Objectives and meeting times will be discussed together with the Coach.

You can apply by filling out this form (https://forms.office.com/r/L3k9jVRnYg). You can change the language from right upper corner. The applications are handled with confidence. We hope participants to join by 24th of October, but you can fill the application also later.

5. Tamko & TREY Wellbeing week!

Welcome to Tamko’s and TREY’s Wellbeing week 7-11 November 2022! During the Wellbeing week, from Monday to Friday, all campuses have a lot of different programs to support the wellbeing of students!  
This year, the theme of the event is “together as a community”, and part of the idea of the event week is to offer opportunities to make new acquaintances. So feel free to join the events and find new friends while having fun! This year there are 33 events in five days! Programme can be found from Tamko’s website.
This year, wonderful overall patces have been acquired for the Wellbeing week, which are distributed only to the fastest! To get an overall badge, you just need to participate in at least one wellness week event and show photo proof of this at Tamko Solu. 
For participating in the Wellbeing Week event, you will also get a stamp on the Tursaspassi!

6. Hangouts x Board game club Kultti

Tamko’s evenings is now Hangouts!

Hangouts are events organized about once a month for Tamko’s members with changing themes, but this first evening is open to everyone!

The theme of the first Hangouts is Board Games and the evening will be led by the Board Game Club Kultti! So arrive at Solu’s sauna on 25.10. at 5pm and come and try out new games, beat your friends in Kimble and test the limits of friendship in Monopoly! You can also come just to hangout and watch others play.

During the evening, there’s all kinds of snacks and drinks are available, as well as your own snacks are allowed! You can also go to the sauna to relax. Just remember to bring your own towel and stuff!

Hangouts is a nonalcoholic and free event!

The event will be stamped on the Tursaspassi under “Participate in a chillout”.

7. Autumn trip 1.11.

Winter is coming and the weather is most beautiful for outdoor activities!

The previous popular Autumn trip is reorganized and this time the trip is towards the Pukala recreational forest in Orivesi! This time dogs are also welcome to the trip so please note this if you are allergic to dogs.

The departure takes place from the main doors on TAMK’s Kuntokatu side on Tuesday 1.11. at 12.00 and the return is at around 19.00. In the Pukala recreational forest, a 6.5 km long hiking trail is toured, and halfway through the trip, we´ll grill sausage and marshmallows.

The event costs 6€ for Tamko’s members and 10€ for non-members.

8. Student feedback surveys starts!

The feedback surveys will be open from October 25 to November 11. In addition to course feedback, TAMK collect the feedback every autumn from new students, second- and third-year students and masters’ degree students who started their studies in spring 2022.

You will receive a survey by e-mail during this week from studentfeedback.tamk@tuni.fi. If you can’t find the mail, check your spam folder as well.

Your feedback is important! Please answer the survey and participate in the feedback session for your degree program next spring.

9. Market Trikoo’s opening celebrations this Wednesday!

Market Trikoo
Market Trikoo is a convenience store owned by the Students’  Union  of  Tampere  University  of Applied   Sciences   Tamko   and   Campusravita   Oy. So the behind the Market Trikoo there are students! Locality,  local  food  and sustainable development are at the core of Market’s operations.

Market Trikoo’s opening celebrations are held on Wednesday 26.10.2022!

There will be:
-Coffee and cake for the first 200 persons
-Shop is filled with discounts 
-Overall patches
-You can get discounts with Tamko’s student: -5% from groceries and -10% from consumables!
