1. Statement: Government’s Budget Framework humiliate students further

In the spring framework session, the government has decided to transfer students from general housing allowance to the student housing allowance. Tamko is shocked by the decision, as students are already struggling enough.

2. European elections panel on tomorrow

You are warmly welcome to TREY’s European elections panel that will be organized in the Väinö Linna -hall of the city center campus on tomorrow on Tuesday 23.4. from 14.00 to 16.00. The main topics of discussion in the panel will be internship compensations, the climate and environment policy in the EU and increasing the Erasmus+ budget to support student mobility.

The panel discussion is held mainly in Finnish. The panel participants are:

3. Tursaspassi returning party on Wednesday!

The time has come to return your Tursaspassi! Let’s figure out who deserves the Mighty Tursas and Boss Tursas prizes this year and who has earned the title of Active Tursas.

Tursaspassi returning event is held at Solu’s front yard on Wednesday 24.4. at 10am-2pm.
You can get the last stamps and we will be serving grill sausages too! So come and return your Tursaspassi and wish for the win!

Everyone who returns Tursaspassi and has at least 15 stamps which includes 5 stamps from events gets and overall patch + participate in raffle!

ps. The official deadline for the return is 30.4., and you can collect stamps until then if you don’t want to hand out the passport in returning event. You can drop the passport to black mailbox in front of our office, if the office is closed.

4. Welcome to Council’s annual spring meeting

All Tamko members are welcomed to Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences annual spring meeting!

Meeting takes place on Friday 26.4..2024 at 13:00 at TAMK main campus E1-11 classroom.

At the spring meeting we will go through among other things: financial statement, annual report and releases from responsibilities of the year 2023.You can see the full agenda on Tamko’s website.

Please note that the meeting is held in Finnish.

You can attend all of these events in English regardless of your field of study!

Tampere is a student city and therefore there are still a huge number of Vappu events outside of this list. You don’t have to take part in everything, you can choose what you want to and have energy to take part in. Remember that vappu drink of your choice can be non-alcoholic also!

6. How are you doing? Answer the survey if you have gotten the invite!

Student, how are you doing?

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is inviting university students from all over Finland to a survey on their health, wellbeing, ability to study and use of services. The results will be used to improve student services such as healthcare, sports services and student catering.

How can I participate in the survey?

•    12,000 will be randomly invited to the survey, and they will receive the invitation by email.
•    The respondents will be 18–34-year-old Bachelor’s or Master’s level students at higher education institutions across Finland.
•    The study will be carried out as an online questionnaire. Filling in the questionnaire will take approximately 20 minutes.

So if you have gotten invite to answer to a question to your email, please answer!

7. Tolu ry: Varusteleka’s remote soldier march

Now you have an excellent opportunity to enjoy the landscapes of Lake Pyhäjärvi in Tampere with an amateur-level march. Join Tolu for Varusteleka’s remote soldier march group departure on Saturday, April 27th!

Register for the march on Varusteleka’s website to earn your march morale badge after completing the march! Sign up on kide.app to join our group departure!

The march can be completed in three different categories:

  • General category: Free clothing, free footwear, at least a 10 kg backpack throughout the journey
  • Military category: Camouflage uniform, combat boots (covering the ankle generously), at least a 10 kg backpack throughout the journey
  • Reconnaissance category: Same minimum requirements as the Military category. Additionally, overnight stay in the field (bivouac, tarp, tent, lean-to shelter, or similar field accommodation) and march back the next day. Daily march distances can be freely chosen from the available options, e.g., 50 + 50 km. NOTE! Know your own performance capability and act responsibly and sensibly.

8. Nurinperin -fest!

Nurinperin -fest is happening for the first time, are you ready?
Set your sights on May and come experience a cultural extravaganza at a student-friendly price!

Nurinperin -fest brings you theater and circus arts with a low threshold, taking place at Juhlatalo Tapiola on May 10th. The event is alcohol-free.

We will get to enjoy amazing shows from UniDance and Hehkumahku! Maybe a couple surprise performances also!
