Welcome to Council meeting on Tuesday 5th of October at 5pm! The meeting will be held at TAMK’s Main Campus. All Tamko members are welcome! You can also get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from this event. More info on the Facebook event. Please note that the meeting is held in Finnish.
2. Tursajaiset 13 October
This year Tursajaiset will be organized on Thursday, 13th of October. The event is a traditional welcoming event for all new students of TAMK. The daytime event is free for all new students. We will start the event at midday (12 p.m.) from TAMK main square (the square at the Teiskontie side) and after group formation, we will march together to Keskustori (Tampere Town Square) where new students will pledge the new student’s vow, called Tursasvala. After the vow, our whole group will move together towards the mysterious Tursasland.
The daytime activities will end at 7 p.m. This year the after party will be held in two places: Ravintolamaailma and Bricks. The group with the most points will be awarded at the after party. Tickets to the after party will come on sale at Kide.app on Tuesday, 28th of September at 10 a.m. Tickets are 6€ from Kide.app, and 9€ at the door.
The overall badges will be given at the after parties as long as there are badges to give. If you don’t want to purchase a ticket and come to the after party, you can buy the overall badge from the info point at daytime event. Overall badge will cost 2€ at the daytime event.
All Tamko events are harassment free. Tamko’s harassment contacts are available at the event. They can also be reached afterwards via email at harassment(at)tamko.fi.
3. Tamko’s Solu pop ups at Mediapolis and Proakatemia
Tamko’s Solu pop-up points at Mediapolis on 28 September at 10am – 1pm and at Proakatemia on 29 September at 10am-12am. You can get a new student card sticker from our pop-up point. Remember that you have to pay your membership fee beforehand. You can fetch your student card from our office or you can ask about the mailing of the student card: office(at)tamko.fi.
4. Academic year sticker valid ’till 30 September
Student card’s RED academic year sticker (09/2021) is valid ’till 30 September 2021. You can renew your sticker at Tamko’s office from Monday to Friday at 10a.m. – 2p.m., please ring the doorbell on other times (8a.m.- 4p.m.). We’re also serving remotely.
5. Remember to pay student healthcare fee by 30 September
Remember to pay your student healthcare fee in time! For the autumn term, the due date is 30 September provided you have registered as attending by then. The healthcare fee to Kela once per term (i.e. twice a year). No bill will be sent on the healthcare fee, and thus you have to pay the fee on your own initiative. Payment for the autumn term is 35,80€ and you can pay it via Kela e-service.
Who is entitled to FHSH services?
– Degree students in higher education are entitled to use FSHS services, as long as they have registered as an attending student for a particular term
– Students at universities of applied sciences (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree), including international students
Who is not entitled to FHSH services?
– Foreign exchange students
– Commissioned education students
– Students on further and continuing education courses
– Open university students
(NB! If you register as attending for the autumn term on or after 1 October, the due date is 31 December.)
6. Cinnamon roll day 4 October
What a lovely smell of coffee and cinnamon roll, but… where is it coming from? Well, from Solu of course! Tamko is offering coffee and cinnamon roll on national cinnamon roll day 4th October at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (or as long as there are enough cinnamon rolls!) at Tamko’s office. The event is also Bonus 1 Tursaspassi event. And if you cannot make it this time, there are still several cinnamon roll days to come!
7. Tolu’s weekly sports shift
Welcome all to Tolu’s drop-in sports shift September 28th from 5p.m. to 7p.m. to Kuntokatu 3, L-building sports hall. This time we’re playing Futsal. You don’t need SportUni membership in order to attend, just say you’re coming to Tolu’s weekly sport shift at the customer service desk. All TAMK students and employees are welcome to the shift.
8. Parvi visitor of the week: Ohjaamo!
The One-Stop Guidance Center is a place where you can get help in matters related to work, education and everyday life. If you don’t know where to start, start at Ohjaamo!
