1. Tamko services during summer

Tamko office and other premises are still closed until further notice. But no worries, Tamko continues to serve remotely during summer time!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email (office(at)tamko.fi) or WhatsApp / phone (+358 44 382 6561) during weekdays from 9am to 4pm. We’re on summer holiday in July, so there might be a slight delay in replying to messages then. If you need to return your Survival Kitt to our office, please contact us well beforehand.

We’re hopefully opening our office and other premises in August, if the corona situation allows it. New study year stickers will be available from Monday, 3rd of August 2020. Student card’s violet sticker will be valid until 30th of September. If you need a study year sticker during summer, please contact us.

Finnish government is mitigating the assembly restrictions from 10 to 50 people from June forward and therefore we’ve decided to open our sauna facilities in June. More info about sauna renting: sauna(at)tamko.fi

This is the last Tamko Topics for this spring. Our comprehensive newsletter will be published again after the summer holidays in August! Please keep an eye on our other channels for more information.

2. Tamko’s overall patch design competition

Tamko announces an overall patch design competition! Is your design the next big hit that can be seen on overalls from various fields of study?

There are three different series in competition: Tamko/TAMK, Tampere and a topic of your own choice. At the end of the competition, Tamko’s Board will select one winner from each series. The competition is open until the end of May.

RULES
– An overall patch musn’t be offensive and should remain within good taste.

– Competition period is from 11th of May until 31st of May 2020.

– The winner will be chosen by Tamko’s Board.

– By participating in the competition with your design, you’ll transfer all its material rights to Tamko.

– Please send the design materials and questions about the competition to edustajisto.vpj(at)tamko.fi.

– You can participate in all series but please note that one overall patch design can’t take part in all three series. Also, please mark your designs clearly, so that we know which design is meant for what series.

– All winners will be rewarded with a local business’ gift card (of their choosing with a value of 15€) and overall patches.

TIPS FOR DESIGNING

– Leave some space at the edges of your design.

– Use a font which is big (at least 5 – 6 mm) and clear enough (sans serif type).

– Avoid using small details or thin lines.

There’s no limit for imagination in this competition, so release your wildest ideas!

4. Tampere City Student Health Care is open during summer time

The student health care is functioning as normally as possible despite the coronaepidemic. In the summer 2020 from 29 of June to 31 of July Student health care works in a reduced manner. If you need an appointment during this time, please contact the nurse by phone +358408062454 (from Monday to Friday).

If you need an appointment with the student healthcare services before the holiday period, please contact the student nurse by phone. The regular phone numbers are working as usual. Consulting hours (times when you can come to the nurse without booking an appointment) are closed. The student in the need of certain vaccinations during the spring term should contact by phone a student health nurse for arranging an appointment.

Please notice  that  it is  forbidden for  a  person  with  respiratory  infection  symptoms  or  a person who has returned from a trip from abroad within 2 weeks or a person ordered under quarantine/isolation to arrive to an appointment. This is an unusual and challenging situation which might cause worries and fears and be hard on people’s mental health. If  you  are  worried  about  the  health  or  wellbeing,  you  can  contact  the  student  nurse. You don’thave to be alone with your worries and questions, but we can solve them together.
