2. Blood donation at TAMK 29th of November

Once again it’s the time to give up some blood when FRC Blood Service comes to TAMK. On Monday, 29th of October between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, come to the main campus (building B next to the dining area) and reach your helping hand! Please book an appointment to blood donation beforehand. To book an appointment in English call our free donor information line on 0800 05801, Mon-Fri 8-17. This event is accessible, so you can get to the place with the elevator. Please come to the donation site when your appointment starts.

If you’re unsure about your eligibility to donate, you can take an online test here (choose “In English” in the top left corner) and the momentarily blood need you can check here. Bring your ID card with you, because a student card isn’t enough. You’ll also need a Finnish social security number so that you can donate! You can also get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from the event!

3. Get stuff done! – study session for all students!

Many of us have difficulties picking up our study tasks or keeping at them until we finish. If you have these feelings, join us to study together! More information: ‘Get stuff done!’ study session (tuni.fi)

Tolu’s drop-in sports shift again at 16th of November from 17:00 to 19:00. We’re playing basketball. You don’t need SportUni membership in order to attend, just say you’re coming to Tolu’s weekly sport shift at the customer service desk. All TAMK students and faculty are welcome.

5. Study & Stay Christmas event brings relaxed holiday feeling to the campus – join the celebrations on Monday 29 Nov!

Are you interested in getting to know Finnish Christmas traditions while making new friends? Would you like to practice your Finnish skills in a relaxed atmosphere? Are you looking for new ways to network and create contacts? All of this is possible when joining in our festive activities! The Study & Stay Christmas event enables international and local students to get to know one another while getting into the holiday mood by making Christmas cards, decorating gingerbread cookies and singing Finnish Christmas songs, all together!

Join to try local Christmas delicacies, engage in friendly conversations and enjoy laidback company! The event is organized in cooperation with Café Nappaa and will take place on Monday 29 November 2021 at TAMK’s Catering Studio, on Main Campus (Kuntokatu 3) at 16–20. Do not come to campus if you are showing any symptoms of an illness.

Sign up by 25 Nov 2021 at 16.00 using this link. We will accept the first 70 students who register! A warm welcome to join the Study and Stay Christmas party and coming events in 2022!

The Study & Stay events are mainly targeted to international students, but they are also open to Finnish students who are interested in getting to know their international fellows and creating new networks. The Christmas event is a part of the new Study & Stay event series, and their purpose is to get together and meet new people in a relaxed atmosphere via seasonal activities. The goal of the Study & Stay activities is to support international students to study, network and get to know the Finnish culture, and live, work or start a business in the Tampere region.
