The last days to vote in Tamko’s Council Elections are here and on Wednesday we’ll get the results.
Voting is quick and easy!
- Choose your candidate who you wanna vote for, To make choosing a candidate easier, you will find candidate lists, candidates, their values, their introductions, and their study fields from candidate page: https://tamko.fi/students-union/council/council-election-candidates-2025/
- Click your way into your tuni email where you will find a link to vote. Then vote in the Council Elections!
- Reward yourself by getting a voting overall-patch from Tamko’s office or a Council Election stand.

2. Finnish Language cafe

Are you interested in practicing or learning Finnish in a relaxed and welcoming setting?
Come join our Finnish Language Cafe every Friday at Solu! We will have different themes each week.
Upcoming cafe days:
- 07.11. 3pm – 5pm
- 14.11. 3pm – 5pm
Whether you’re just starting out or already know some Finnish, everyone is welcome. You’ll have the chance to meet new people, practice useful phrases, and enjoy a friendly atmosphere where mistakes are part of the learning.
There will also be coffee and some light snacks!

Tamko is looking for tutors for students starting their studies in August!

4. Suggest the TAMK persons of the year

This year TAMK will again nominate the Teacher and Student of the Year. Who, in your opinion, has been a promoter of the “Forward Together” mindset at TAMK and deserves this recognition?
The Teacher and Staff Member of the Year will be awarded in the graduation ceremony on 18 December 2025. This year’s nomination will be based on the theme of Forward Together. The recognition will be awarded to a student who has significantly contributed to building a forward-looking student culture through their own actions, inspiring others, and leading by example.
With the recognition, the Tampere University of Applied Sciences Foundation wants to highlight the importance of community spirit in the daily activities of TAMK. The purpose of the recognition is to encourage students and promote communal practices.
Tamko will decide on the receiver of the Teacher and Student of the Year awards based on the written proposals.
All TAMK community members, both students and staff, are welcome to send their proposals.

The last days to give feedback in autumn’s Say it Out Loud! feedback days.
Tell what studying at TAMK is like and how your studies are going!
In addition to course feedback, TAMK collect the feedback every autumn from new students, second- and third-year students and masters’ degree students who started their studies in spring 2025.
You have received a survey on by e-mail from studentfeedback.tamk@tuni.fi. If you can’t find the mail, check your spam folder as well.
Your feedback is important! Please answer the survey by November 7th and participate in the feedback sessions during the spring 2026.

7. Remember to pay the healthcare fee by 15.11.

Hey student! Remember to pay the healthcare fee to Kela!
The fee must be paid by all students who are completing a degree at a Finnish institution of higher education and have registered as attending for the term in question.
Healthcare fee’s due date for the spring term is 15.11. and it is EUR 35.60 per term and it helps FSHS offer comprehensive student healthcare services. The fee must be paid for both the spring and autumn terms by using the OmaKela e-service. If you cannot use OmaKela for instance because you do not have Finnish banking credentials, please pay the fee to Kela as a bank transfer. It’s recommend to pay the healthcare fee before the due date. If your payment is late, you will also have to pay a fixed late-payment charge.

Come and learn about greener travel opportunities at the Green Travel Info session hosted by TAMK’s International Office.
Are you interested in traveling more responsibly and reducing your carbon footprint? Join us for an info session where we’ll explore more sustainable travel options, share practical tips, and hear real-life examples of greener mobility.
We will also provide information about the green travel top up grant available for students and staff going on Erasmus + exchange.
Our guest speaker is Stefan Baumeister from the University of Jyväskylä, who will share his experience of a work trip travelling overland across Europe. In addition, we’ll hear from a student who used the Erasmus+ green top-up grant and traveled green to their exchange destination.

If you started completing your first degree at an institution of higher education in the autumn semester 2025, you can now complete the HealthStart questionnaire in the Self online service. After completing the HealthStart questionnaire, you’ll receive feedback on your state of health and may be referred to health promotion services provided by the FSHS.
The health examination for first-year students begins with the HealthStart questionnaire, the aim of which is to help you and healthcare professionals check your health status and refer you to the appropriate services as early as possible at the beginning of your studies.
The HealthStart questionnaire examines your physical, mental and social health, as well as the key aspects of your health behavior and factors affecting your health, health behavior and ability to study.
