1. Council meeting 19.10.
Welcome to Council meeting on Tuesday 19th of October at 5pm! The meeting will be held at TAMK’s Main Campus. All Tamko members are welcome! You can also get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from this event. More info on the Facebook event. Please note that the meeting is held in Finnish.
2. Tamko’s office open normally during autumn break
Tamko’s office is open normally during autumn break (18 – 22 October) from Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. We’re also serving remotely via phone, e-mail and on our website’s live chat.
3. Degree tutors, application period 11th of October until 14th of November 2021
Degree tutors are helping out new degree students of TAMK. They are playing an important part in integrating new students to Tampere and TAMK. Degree tutors will gain new friendships and study credits: sounds like a great deal, huh? Degree tutors work with their Finnish peer tutor colleagues and meet the new students once a month during their first academic year 2022-2023. Enroll here.
4. Tolu’s weekly sports shift 19th of October (floorball)
Even though it’s the autumn break, Tolu’s drop-in sports shift is still on at 19th of October from 17:00 to 19:00. It’s going to be often requested floorball! You don’t need SportUni membership in order to attend, just say you’re coming to Tolu’s weekly sport shift at the customer service desk. All TAMK students and faculty are welcome.
5. “Asking for a friend” – workshop
We would need a couple of ideas: what would get you and your friends interested in doing things together with other people? How would you cheer up your studies? What things are difficult and how could you help with them? Would you have a specific skill that you could teach others? Lets find everyone a group!
Tamko and Tresilienssi are organizing worshop together in Parvi (C2-03) on the 4.11. at 16-17.00, so this does not take long! All degree students are welcome, whether you are studying an bachelors or a masters. Event is part of the Wellness Week. We will provide some snacks so enroll for the event here.
6. SportUni course enrollment opens on 25 Oct
After the autumn holiday week, the second enrollment period of SportUni courses begins. Registration begins on Mon 25 October at 9.00 and lasts until 3 November. A wide variety of courses are offered from different sports and for beginners and experienced exercisers. Check out the offering on our Courses website and enroll.
We offer in the fall 2021 a single max. 30 € course for free. Register for the courses in the normal way and leave one of your chosen max. 30 € course fee unpaid. You can attend several courses, but only one (max. 30 €) is free. This benefit doesn’t apply courses that cost more than 30 €. There are a limited number of places for the courses. Participation in the courses requires a valid sports fee.
7. Tolu’s paintball excursion Nov 11th
Tolu arranges a paintball excursion to Lempäälä on Thursday Nov 11th at 17:00. Tickets will be sold on Kide.app starting on Monday Oct 25th. Grab yours, squad up and come compete with Tolu.
8. Teatteri Ääriraja presents: JULIUS
Please note that this show is in Finnish! The whole family and closest friends have been invited to Julius Atkins’ birthday party. However the deadly fun party takes an unpleasant turn when the man of the hour is found dead in the middle of the living room. The only thing left is the question – Which one of them is guilty?
Teatteri Ääriraja’s new show has its premiere on October 22nd in TAMK festival hall. The duration of the show is approximately 2h 30min including the intermission. The show has flashing lights and is not suitable for children under the age of 12.

Tickets 10/7€ students, people in military or civilian service, pensioners and unemployed people are entitled to discounted tickets. Buy your tickets on kide.app or book them via email to liput.aariraja@gmail.com. In your message please tell us which show do you want the ticket to, how many tickets do you need and are they normal or discounted tickets.
If there are still tickets available they can also be bought at the door. We recommend buying or booking tickets in advance so you can secure getting yourself a ticket. Get your tickets here. We welcome you to find out who is guilty!
9. Tolu ry mandated fall assembly
Tolu ry will have the mandated fall assembly 29th of November at 17:00. The assembly location on the campus will be informed later.
All TAMK students are welcome to participate. A new board will be chosen for the 2022-2023 term in the fall assembly.
10. The Queens of Tampere presents… ”Sisters go partying” – pre-Christmas drag show!
Two drag- artists from Tampere; Tina the Balleriina (TAMK graduate Teemu Sytelä) and Carrie (TAMK student Matias Korhonen) are delighted to invite all students from Tampere to see this brand new full evening’s drag show, called ”Siskot lähtee bailaamaan” (Sisters go partying in eng.) !
This show brings all favorite party songs and their artists to the stage; All the way from finnish artists to worldwide stars, from gentle ballads, pop and rock Eurovision acts all the way to explosive and funny songs from the Mamma Mia!- movies and their characters. In this show there will be more than 60 different characters on the stage- performed by these two lovely ladies- including characters from Erika Vikman to Lordi, from Dolly Parton to Lady Gaga, just to name a few. AND the cherry on top of it all: Our fabulous queens perform every song singing LIVE!
”Siskot lähtee bailaamaan!”- tour starts from these queens hometown Tampere, in Dance Theater MD’s Hällä- stage (Hämeenkatu 25, Tampere) : Premiere is Wed. 10th of November at 7 pm, and the next show is right on the next day: Thurs. 11th of November, also at 7 pm.
Tickets: 44/33 €, and the lower price is for students. Tickets are selling at Lippu.fi , on page ”Siskot lähtee bailaamaan!”. Duration of the show is approximately 2 h 30 mins, including intermission.
