1. Council elections are here!

Do you have ideas about what Tamko should be like in the future? Now is your chance to make a difference!
The nomination period for Tamko’s Council elections is on and it ends on 30.9.2026 at 12:00. A total of 21 members will be elected to the Council.

The Council elections will take place from 15.10. to 4.11 2026, with electronic voting starting on 15.10. at 10:00. All eligible Tamko members can run as candidates. You can join an existing candidate list or create your own.

2. Blood donation at TAMK on 11.9.

Lend an arm and be a lifesaver with us!

Tamko and SPR are organizing blood donation at TAMK main campus on room C1-05 on Friday 11.9. from 10am till 3pm.

Blood donation is an easy way to help and only takes about an hour. Come along to save lives! You can test your eligibility to donate from Veripalvelu’s website.

3. Solu’s new opening hours starting from 14.9.

Starting from next week’s Monday 14.9. there will be changes to the service hours of Tamko’s Member Services. We’ll offer member services at Solu from Monday to Thursday at 10-13 and on Fridays at 10-12. When the desk is open you can come by as usual to pick up your student card, change your academic year sticker, reserve sauna facilities or get guidance and advice. Outside member services hours, you can contact us by email at toimisto@tamko.fi.

During self-service hours Tamko members can use the Solu for studying, hanging around or having coffee even when member service is not present at the desk. With Tamko’s physical student card members have access to Solu outside member services hours on weekdays until 16.

Hot drink is offered by OP Pirkanmaa for new Tamko members.

5. Kotila’s Saturday Brunch for Student Families

Kotila’s Saturday Brunch for Student Families are back!

Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning where we prepare and enjoy a delicious brunch together. The activity is free of charge and intended for students with children. Please come together with your child.

It’s a great opportunity to enjoy good food, meet other student families and spend time together. Note that the main language of the meetings is Finnish. You are warmly welcomed even if you don’t speak Finnish but would like a safe environment to practice it.

Saturdays on even weeks, 10:00–13:00 from September 5th to December 12th. Meetings are held in Kamula (Mustanlahdenkatu 18). More information and sign ups to Peppiina 044 553 8422.

7. Workshops for students in information searching in TUNI library

Support for information searching: workshops for students in autumn 2026
Have you already participated in information seaching training, but you still have questions regarding information searching or library’s e-resources? Join an information searching workshop!

The workshops are held at the library’s Linna and TAMK locations as well as online. Workshops take place on Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Fridays from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM.
