1. Tamko’s spring semester recap

As a member of Tamko, you have helped make events, student advocacy, and community spirit possible during the spring semester!
Take a look below at a summary of everything that happened during Tamko’s spring semester:
- We organized the community-building Talvitursajaiset event for new students who started their studies in January
- Together with our sub associations, we organized the Gateway to Working Life recruitment event, which brought 80 companies to the main campus to meet the future talents
- We provided training for student associations and clubs
- We actively participated in TAMK’s Feedback Sessions across different degree programmes, where we listened to students’ current concerns and important topics
- Together with the Tampere University Student Union TREY, we engaged in city-level advocacy and conducted the Nysse survey regarding student-priced tickets. This advocacy work will continue as we present the results to the Regional Public Transport Committee next month
- We organized fun treasure hunts on campuses through the Valentine’s Day HeartRush event and Easter egg hunts
- We organized free and open Hangouts events, including one held together with the Martat- organization
- Throughout the spring, we trained tutors for the upcoming autumn semester at TAMK and in Virrat through the overnight Kopteri-training
- We ran an anti-harassment campaign on social media, raising awareness about different themes related to harassment
- We wrote an opinion piece for Aamulehti about the concerning financial situation students face during the summer
- We involved students in TAMK’s campus development by creating a campus survey where everyone interested could share their wishes and needs for the campuses of the future
- Together with TTO, TIRO, and PIRATE, we organized the Wappustartti event
- We recruited new Board members through a additional Board application and by decision of the Council Elina Pärssinen and Valtteri Lahtinen were selected to join the team!
We also:
- … met monthly with TAMK’s management team and shared updates on current student issues
- … represented student perspectives in dozens of different working groups
- … provided services and coffee for students at our office
- … planned events and activities for the autumn, such as orientation weeks, Survival Kits, and events like Torisitsit and Tursajaiset
