1. Tamko continues to be remotely open until Midsummer
Tamko’s office is open as usual until 24 June. We´re vacationing in July, so answers will be slightly delayed if you message us then. You can contact us about matters related to the member services by WhatsApp (+358 44 382 6561) or our office email: office(at)tamko.fi. The best way to contact us during July is using our office mail address.

We aim to reopen our office in August if the pandemic situation allows it. New academic year stickers will be available on 2 August. The red academic year sticker of a student card is valid until 30 September 2021.
The easiest way to continue your membership is through the “Continue your membership” form on our website. Payments made through the form are automatically entered into our membership register and through it to, for example, Pivo. If you need a new sticker for you student card during the summer, feel free to contact us.
We will inform about the sauna rentals during the summer. There will be a small renovation done to Tamko’s sauna during the summer.

2. Come to work as a security steward in Tursajaiset!
Tamko’s Tursajaiset are held for the 80th time in the autumn on 8 September, and we need volunteer security stewards for the event. You will receive a ticket to the afterparty and the event overall patch as a reward for your services. If you have a security steward license and you are willing to work as a security steward in Tamko’s Tursajaiset, send us an email: tapahtumat(at)tamko.fi. Signing up for duty does not need to be binding yet: preliminary signups are also welcome.
3. Avoid coming to the campuses while entrance examinations are in progress
Entrance examinations will take place on the campuses of Tampere University (city centre campus and Hervanta campus) between 18 May and 11 June 2021 and on the main campus of Tampere University of Applied Sciences between 31 May and 9 June 2021. Staff and students are advised to avoid coming to and parking on the campuses while entrance examinations are in progress.
4. Buy your tickets for Syysfest 2021!
Opiskelijan Tampere’s and Särkänniemi’s SyysFest is here again! For the fourth time this student festival will hit Särkänniemi right in the beginning of the academic year! Get your tickets here: https://kide.app/events/6e636254-8df6-4342-a870-ac440c9b1c57
The ticket will be changed to a Särkänniemi wristband. You also need a valid student card or certificate. In SyysFest Särkänniemi Theme Park is reserved for students only! All the craziest rides are open and also restaurants, kiosks and games. More information will come along the summer. Facebook-event.
5. Remember to pay the student healthcare fee in time!
Students attending a university of applied sciences who are entitled to use the services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) have been required since January 2021 to pay a healthcare fee to Kela for each academic term. All students who are registered as attending for the current term and are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree are entitled to FSHS services.
If you are entitled to FSHS services, you must pay the student healthcare fee. You are not billed for the student healthcare fee but must make sure to pay it in OmaKela for each academic term.
For the autumn term, the due date is 30 September provided you have registered as attending by then. If you register as attending for the autumn term on or after 1 October, the due date is 31 December. For the spring term, the due date is 31 January provided you have registered as attending by then. If you register as attending for the spring term on or after 1 February, the due date is 31 July.
6. Register your attendance for the academic year of 2021-2022 by 31 July 2021
To preserve your study right, you have to register for attendance or non-attendance each academic year. If you are on extension time, registration for attendance will be made automatically for you.
Please register for the following academic year in PAKKI between 1 March–31 July. You can change your registration for the spring semester by 30 November by contacting the study affairs coordinator. Read more from Intra.
7. Apply for Tampere Summer School by 7 June 2021
Tampere Summer School has moved online! Join us 2—13 August 2021 from the comfort of your own home! Select from interesting online courses covering various academic fields and apply by 7 June 2021.

12. #Parvi – Helping services and support networks for students
Tampere Universities responds to the students’ distress by establishing a new peer support community called #parvi together with the student organizations TREY and Tamko. The purpose of Parvi is to make the various currently available helping services and support networks to be easier to find and to lower students’ threshold to seek help. Parvi offers peer support, helping services and personal encounters with other individuals. Parvi will be there when you need it: www.tuni.fi/parvi-tamk (in Finnish only).
