Tamko’s Council met on 18.8.2025 at TAMK Main Campus. Many matters, such as confirming an opinion piece with the Student Union of Tampere University (TREY) and commenting the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences SAMOK’s General Assembly materials, were discussed in the meeting.

Tamko’s Council Elections are here! In the elections, you can stand as a candidate for Tamko’s Council. If you are interested in low-treshold association activity and having an impact on your own and students’ matters in good company, apply for the Council now! Voting in the elections is as important if not more since by voting you will affect who decides things in your students’ union. The period to stand as a candidate for 2026’s Council is 10.9.-1.10.2025. The elections which is the voting period is 15.10.-5.11.2025.
So, stand as a candidate for Tamko’s Council by 1.10. if you want to affect students’ matters in TAMK and in Tamko, in Tampere, and nationally. Follow Tamko’s Instagram because we’ll be informing actively about the Council Elections there!

Changes to the composition of the Council
We granted the Council’s deputy-members Helena Pakarinen and Tia Huura their resignings from the Council. We updated the composition of the Council and the order-of-priority of the Engineers list and the Culture and Media list.
What have Tamko’s actors been up to?
Tamko organized orientation which were in full action at the time of the Council Meeting. Tamko’s actors have been working hard to offer Tamko’s members different kinds of activities and member benefits such as discounted overall patches and free EuroBasket tickets.

Resignation of the Co-operations Representative
The Board’s Co-operations Representative notified of their resignation from the Board due to changes in their situation. We confirmed the resignation and freed the resigned person of their duties.
Commenting SAMOK’s General Assembly Materials
The National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences SAMOK lobbies for students’ matters nationally. SAMOK has a General Assembly in October where Tamko takes part in affecting students’s matters and Students’ Unions’ matters on a national level. In the Council Meeting, SAMOK’s General Assembly materials were preliminarily commented on.
Opinion piece with TREY
In the meeting, an opinion piece by Tamko and the Student Union of Tampere University (TREY) regarding student-priced public-transport tickets was confirmed. The piece was published in Aamulehti.
Updating Tamko’s Code of Conduct
Tamko’s Code of Conduct was updated with Tamko’s 2024-2027 strategy’s values.
