The new Council’s organization meeting was held on the 22nd of November 2022 in the E1-06 auditorium of TAMK’s main campus. The Council’s Chairpersons, the board of the Students’ Union and student representatives for different committees for the year 2023 were elected at this meeting.

Presentation of the Councils Chairpersons
The Council’s Chairpersons presented their own role and tasks to the new Council.

Organization of the Council
Nona Wallasvaara ran for the position of Chairperson of the Council and she was elected to the position.
Eetu Korhonen ran for the position of Vice Chairperson of the Council and he was elected to the position.
Election of the board for the term of office 2023
Linda Vallenius ran for the position of Chairperson of the board and she was elected to the position.
Kati Tuomisto and Olli Hämäläinen ran for the position of Vice Chairperson of the board. Kati Tuomisto was chosen for the position.
In addition to the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, the board consists of at least three and at most nine members. This year, the Student Union’s Board has had 8 members, each of whom has been assigned their own area of responsibility. In accordance with the board’s proposal, the board of representatives decided that the number of board members should be 8 people.
Riku Pitkänen, Julia Väänänen, Olli Hämäläinen, Johanna Yrjölä, Sini-Marjaana Ikonen, Matti Hämelahti, Minja Kero and Lassi Laakso ran for the position as board members. Everyone who ran for the position was elected as a member of the board.
Completing the Council if necessary
Olli Hämäläinen joined Tamko’s board from the actual members of the Council. In his place, Mikko Vaskivuori from the Tradenomit list became an actual member. Kati Tuomisto, Riku Pitkänen and Johanna Yrjölä joined the board from deputy members. With their rise to the board, they can no longer act as deputy members of the Council.
Deciding on the organizational meeting of the Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences Board
The organizational meeting of Tamko’s board is held immediately after the organizational meeting of the Council ends at the Student Union’s office.
Choosing the Central election’s board of the Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Emmi Lainpelto ran for the position of Chairperson of the Central election board and she was elected to the position. Kia Kauppinen ran for Vice Chairperson and she was elected to the position. Mona Ristikartano, Jukka Eräpuro, Berfin Üstün, Joonas Soukkio and Ville Paananen ran for office as members of the Central election board. They were chosen for the duty.
The official information channel of the Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences
As in previous years, the website was chosen as the Student Union’s official information channel for 2023.
Student representatives of Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ higher education council 2023–2024
The Higher Education Council decides on the principles and curricula of the University of applied sciences’ quality management. The University Council has two student representative positions. Jukka Eräpuro and Kati Tuomisto ran for the higher education council and they were elected to the position.
Student representative of the Examination Board
The examination board is responsible, for example, for the results of entrance exams and processes correction requests from them. Kati Tuomisto has worked as a student representative on the examination board in 2022 and expressed her interest in continuing in the position. The board nominated Kati Tuomisto as a full member of the examination board and Olli Hämäläinen as a deputy member, they were elected to the position.
The members of the Opiskelijan Tampere board
Tamko’s board nominated Tamko’s executive director Henna Ruostila and the Vice Chairperson of Tamko’s board for the year 2023 to Opiskelijan Tampere’s board. Kati Tuomisto was previously elected as the Vice Chairperson of Tamko’s board. According to the board’s proposal, executive director Henna Ruostila and Vice Chairperson of the board Kati Tuomisto were elected to the positions.
Campusravita Oy’s general meeting and board members
Tamko owns approximately 80 % of Campusravita Oy and thus appoints three members to the company’s board and a representative to the general meeting. According to the proposal of Tamko’s board of actors, the board of representatives elected Joonas Soukkio as the general meeting representative, Risto Masonen as board Chairperson, and Kia Kauppinen and Hanna Ojaniemi as board members.
Student members of the TOAS delegation
Tamko has two full and two deputy seats in the Tampere student housing foundation TOAS delegation. Emmi Lainpelto and Olli Hämäläinen ran for full members of the delegation, Johanna Yrjölä and Emma Haatainen ran for deputy members. They were chosen for the task.
YTHS delegation
According to the rules of FSHS, students’ unions nominate members to the delegation through SAMOK. SAMOK collects the presentations and SAMOK’s board decisides on the presentation in accordance with the presentations submitted by the students’ unions. Tamko has the place of a full representative in the delegation for the years 2023–2024. Tamko’s board nominated Hannastiina Ruismäki, an expert in educational and social affairs, to the FSHS delegation. The Council approved the board’s proposal.
