1. Tamko’s new actors have been elected!

The Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ Council for 2024 was organized on 22.11.2023. The Council elected among its members Aku Käkilehto (Construction Engineering) as the chairperson of the Council and Tommi Kantola (Construction Engineering) as the vice-chairperson of The Council.

Julia Väänänen (Nursing and Health Care) was elected as the Chairperson of the Board Minja Kero (Social Services) as Vice-Chairperson of the Board.

2. Tamko’s Little Christmas party tomorrow!

Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to add to the Christmas spirit than Tamko’s Christmas party 2023! Tamko’s Christmas party on Tuesday 5th of December starting at 10pm at Restaurant Bricks.

Get your tickets from Kide app for 3 € incl. cloakroom. Tickets are also sold at the door for 4 €. Seats are limited at Bricks, so claim your tickets early! This will also ensure that you get the overall badge.

You can arrive in black clothing, elf costume or familiar and safe overalls!

3. Hangouts: make Christmas cards to elderly people

Hangouts Christmas card workshop!
Come to Solu’s sauna on 4.12. from 17 to create Christmas cards for the elderly! The cards will be collected and sent through Siskot ja Simot organization to lonely elderly. You can also just hang out and enjoy the warmth of the sauna. Please also bring your own sauna things!

Tamko offers crafting materials for card making and some snacks but you can also bring your own.

Hangouts is a free and alcohol-free event and you can get a stamp from the event to your Tursaspassi.

This week brings some exceptions to the opening hours of Tamko’s office Solu

Wednesday      closed due to Finland’s Independence day

5. WELCOME TO KAMULA – evening for newcomers

Hi student!

Have you heard of Kamula, a meeting place for students? Or maybe you have heard of it, but haven’t been to Kamula, students meeting place yet?
We have planned a nice evening at Kamula just for you. Welcome to Kamula’s newcomers’ evening!

At Kamula (address: Mustanlahdenkatu 18, Tampere)
Free of charge

Activities for the evening

  • Speed friending at 5pm
  • Baking together gingerbreads at 6 pm
  • Bracelet making station open all evening
  • Snacks available all evening

At the door of Kamula, you will be welcomed by Kamula’s employees Fiia & Siina. You will be shown around the Kamula facilities and what you can do at Kamula. After the tour, we will find something nice to do together. There are also volunteers at Kamula who spend time with visitors. You will not be alone at Kamula.

6. Career week in January

Career week organized for TAMK students will take place at the beginning of next year on 16–18th January 2024. Through the week you have a chance to participate in useful trainings and workshops with the common themes of career planning and job seeking.

Events and workshops will be held at TAMK’s main campus. There will be activities both in English and in Finnish. All the upcoming events will be listed on TAMK’s JobTeaser’s Event page. There you can also find more information on the events and workshops.

You are warmly welcome to join one or all of the events – and bring your friend, too. Save the date on your calendar and see you at the Career Week 2024 – Stay tuned for more info!

8. Tribe Housewarming today 4.12.

Are you interested in employment opportunities in growth companies or starting your own project/business? Tribe Tampere is a community operating at the Tampere Startup House (Platform6), and together with Tampere ES (student run entrepreneurship organization), it’s organizing a low-threshold event where various organizations relevant to students at the house will discuss about their opportunities for students.
