1. Stand as candidate in Council elections

You can stand as a candidate in Tamko’s Council elections starting from Wednesday 10.9. at 10.00! We encourage everyone to influence and stand as candidate!

Working in Council you get to influence Tamko’s and students’ matters, meet new people, make new friends and practice conference standards and you gain experience performing and a good entry in your CV. All the decisions are made together, you don´t have to work alone!

3. Affect Tamko’s membership by answering

Now you have a chance to affect Tamko’s membership again!

4. Apply for student representative to TAMK’s Advisory Boards 

TAMK’s Advisory Boards are an important part of the cooperation between TAMK and working life. They support work-life orientation in education, continuous learning, and research and development activities. 
 
In the Advisory Board, you can influence the development of your education together with the stakeholders in working life. There are two to four meetings a year, so the task doesn’t take much time but it offers even more opportunities and experiences! Tamko support student representatives with the activities of advisory boards. 
 
The terms of office are two years and the current term of office will last until the end of 2026. The aim is to fill the student representative positions as soon as possible, so apply immediately. 

All current positions require Finnish speaking skills, but we’ll update here if any open positions for English comes up.

5. Do you know how to get help when you need urgent care?

The Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa (Pirkanmaan hyvinvointialue) has urgent care services available for everyone.

-You can use the Digital Clinic app or website every day from 8 am to 10 pm, even on the weekends. Through digital clinic you may contact professional health care workers via chat messages. The professionals can give guidance, make an appointment for you or guide you to the emergency department if necessary.

-Alternatively, you can call the Medical Helpline 116117. The number is available 24 hours a day every day of the year. A health care worker can give you self-treatment instructiosn and direct you to the emergency department if necessary.

If a person’s life is in danger, call the emergency number 112.

6. Karaokekierros

Have the summer heats made you thirsty? Has your singing voice gotten a little rusty? No worries – now’s the perfect chance to fix that, because Karaokekierros is just around the corner!

On this crawl, you’ll get to tour Tampere’s hottest bars and sing your heart out! Whether you’re a shower singer, a stage veteran, or just in it for the vibes, Karaokekierros is made for you! So grab a group of 2 to 4 friends, warm up those vocal cords, and join us for an unforgettable night! Everyone in your group needs their own appro ticket.

The starting point, finish line, and of course the afterparty venue for Karaokekierros will all be at Bar Ihku, Hämeenkatu 23.

7. SyysFest on Thursday!

In SyysFest, Särkänniemi is reserved for students who have bought tickets for the evening!

8.  Women’s American football beginner course

American football has room for all kinds of players — every position requires different skills. So come join us, whether you’re a fast runner or a strong linewoman. No previous experience is needed, just the willingness to learn and try something new! The beginner course is open to all women and girls aged 16 and up.

Course dates:
– Mon 15.9. at 18:30–20:00
– Wed 17.9. at 18:30–20:00
– Mon 22.9. at 18:30–20:00
– Wed 24.9. at 18:30–20:00

Location: Koivistonkylä field

This is the perfect opportunity to try out the sport and learn its basics in a relaxed and encouraging environment. After the beginner course, team practices will continue throughout the fall season at Koivistonkylä field.

9. Survey: How do you see sustainably at TAMK?

What sustainable actions have been done at TAMK and how are you involved in them? How visible are TAMK’s efforts to you? What, in your opinion, needs to be done to achieve better sustainability?

We invite all TAMK students to participate in the sustainability survey, which is both anonymous and confidential. The survey is conducted in English, and the response time is about 15 minutes.
