Welcome to New Students
We want to warmly welcome you to TAMK and to Tamko! Good luck for everyone at the beginning of their studies and thankfully you have the greatest tutors with you! Blue hoodie Tamko residents can also always answer to your possible questions and give help and advice.

2. Student cards and academic year stickers
NEW STUDENTS
- New students who have ordered Tamko’s student card will receive message to their TUNI-email when the card can be picked up. The student card can be picked up when studies have started.
- Tamko’s mobile student cards in Tuudo and Slice will start working when your study right begins and if you have added your student number on the registration form. You can check your information and add your student number at www.asiointi.tamko.fi
- If you didn’t receive Slice credentials to your email, you can order a new one for yourself at www.slice.fi/resetoi
CONTINUING STUDENTS
- New student card academic year stickers can be picked up from our office now!
- The current academic year sticker 9/2026 expires at the end of September, so there is no rush to change the sticker yet.
- If you have also paid the membership fee for the autumn semester 2026, Tamko’s mobile student card will automatically work in Tuudo and Slice even after the sticker expires.
- You can purchase additional membership at our office or in our online service at www.asiointi.tamko.fi
MAILING OF ACADEMIC YEAR STICKERS AND STUDENT CARDS
We mail academic year stickers and student cards mainly only to those living outside Tampere, but not abroad. Mailing can be purchased from Kide.app for 3,50 €.

3. Tursajaiset 2026
Tursajaiset event for new students will take place on 2nd of September. We will march together, make the Tursas vow and do fun tasks. New students, welcome to join the fun event to start the semester!
The traditional Tamko’s Tursajaiset is coming up! The event is free and intended for new students from all study fields all the way from the multiform learning groups to degree and exchange students.
This year’s Tursajaiset will be organised on Wednesday 2nd of September and the daytime activity is free for all new students.
The event will start at 12:30 at Keskustori Central square. At central square there will be speeches and the new students will pledge a funny vow called Tursas vow. After that, the group will move on towards the Rosendahl beach.
At the Rosendahl the groups will go around doing different tasks together. The tasks will help the group get to known each other better! The group with the most points and best costumes will be awarded after the event.

Afterparty
Party into the night at the official Tursajaiset afterparty at Viihdemaailma Ilona! The party goes on from 21 to 04 with the energetic rap duo M//O taking the stage! Pre-sale tickets cost for Tamko members 5€ and for non-members 9€. The prices do not include the cloakroom fee. Tickets bought from the door 12€.

5. Join Friend Activities and get to know a Finnish friend!
Parvi’s Friend Activities brings Finnish and international students together in a relaxed and welcoming group setting. You’ll get to know new people, cultures, and perspectives while building a supportive community together.
Meetings are held every second week at Parvi. Each session includes guided activities and themes that make conversation easy. Group compositions may change during the sessions so you can meet different people.

6. SyysFest 2026
SyysFest is back! Now in its eighth year, this student festival hits Särkänniemi right at the start of the academic year on Tuesday 8.9. from 16-21. SyysFest is the most energetic event of the season, bringing together students from all around Tampere. Come meet new people, celebrate our community, and enjoy a night out with fellow students!

7. Start the autumn semester from SportUni!
SportUni Open House & Course Enrollment Start on August 24
Try SportUni for Free! SportUni welcomes all TAU and TAMK students and staff to enjoy free access from 24 August to 6 September 2026 at our Hervanta, Kauppi and City Centre sports facilities.Explore our gyms, join group exercise classes, and discover new ways to stay active. Autumn Course Enrollment Opens on August 24
Registration for SportUni’s autumn 2026 courses opens on 24 August at 9:00 AM and closes on 2 September at 11:59 PM. Kick off the autumn season with SportUni courses such as martial arts, partner dancing or gym training.

8. Join NääsPeksi 2026
Interactive musical theatre association NääsPeksi is looking for people to be part of NääsPeksi’s 2026 production – join us now!
Speksi is a form of improv & musical theatre popular among the universities in Finland and Sweden. NääsPeksi has over 100 students annually working towards a common goal – an epic musical theatre spectacle! There’s many ways to participate in making Speksi: Whether you like creating epic costumes or scary weapons, painting walls or people’s faces, planning eye-catching social media campaigns or feeding the hungry Speksi crew – we have a place for you. Almost all production teams require no previous experience and the right attitude and excitement will take you far! Snapshots from last years’ productions can be seen on NääsPeksi Instagram.
You can apply by using this link before Aug 30th! The team leader of your chosen teams will contact you after the application period ends. Mark your calendars! KVTO, which is the first “get to know” event/party that starts the production season, is on Wednesday the 2nd of September. More info on the event will be shared on the week of the event!
