6. Security guards and referees for Beer Mölkky

Gooooood daaaay, esteemed Mölkky nation!

The traditional Beer Mölkky tournament will be held again this year, and the chosen date is September 23rd, 2025. At this point, we kindly ask for a little help from you. If you or someone you know has a valid security guard license and would be interested in acting as one of the event’s security guards, please get in touch as soon as possible via: viihde.jasen@konekerho.com. As a token of appreciation for this valuable role, you’ll receive free skip-the-line access to the official afterparty, and rumor has it that some refreshing drink tokens might be waiting there as well.

But don’t worry if you don’t have a guard license and still want to participate in the event in a non-playing role — we’ve got you covered. We are also looking for referees to officiate this intense tournament. Since refereeing is no easy job either, you’ll receive the same perks as the guards — skip-the-line entry, free afterparty access, and possible drink surprises. So don’t wait — reach out to us at the email above and let us know you’re interested. NOTE: All those who sign up will be contacted later about referee training.

8. Welcome to FSHS services new students!

We at the FSHS are here to support your health and well-being throughout your studies. We provide oral, general, and mental health services to you studying towards a degree at a Finnish higher education institution when you have registered as an attending student for the current semester.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with our Self online service and start using Self right at the start of your studies. In Self you can, for example, update your contact information, manage health-related matters easily with service forms, use chat services and manage your appointments.

During the first semester, you will receive an invitation to the HealthStart questionnaire if you are studying towards your first degree at an institution of higher education. After completing the health questionnaire you’ll receive an assessment on the state of your health, and you may be referred to our services if necessary.

The healthcare fee for students in higher education, which must be paid unprompted to Kela, covers all FSHS services. We at the FSHS do not charge fees for appointments. Please note that some international degree students have been given different instructions regarding the healthcare fee. Always check the up-to-date instructions on Kela´s website.

If necessary, please reschedule or cancel your appointment 24 hours before the scheduled time to avoid being charged for the unused appointment.

9. Join Friendship Activities and get to know a Finnish friend!

International student, join our Friend Activities and get to know a Finnish friend!

Every year, many exchange and degree students from around the world arrive at TAMK. For many, Finnish culture is new, and it can feel lonely at first. Making local friends can seem difficult — and that’s where you come in!

TAMK’s Friendship Activities offer a great chance for international and Finnish students to meet, learn about each other’s cultures, and practice the Finnish language in a relaxed and friendly environment. You don’t need to speak fluent Finnish — we’ll learn together!

The meetings are held very other week at Parvi (Main Campus, B1-24) with guided activities and themed discussions to make conversation easier. The meetings will take place from the 9th of September to 3rd of December. You don’t need to attend every time, but we hope you can commit for at least one semester. Friends are also welcome to meet outside of the scheduled events!
