The Students’ Union Tamko opposes cuts targeting students that significantly weaken their position and livelihood in Finland. The cuts made by the government have affected us students through cuts to social assistance, affordable housing, and education, as well as the transfer of the housing supplement in student financial aid.
Vastarinta 2026 is a peaceful demonstration opposing the government’s cutting policy. The demonstration will be held simultaneously in four cities and is politically and religiously non-affiliated. The Tampere demonstration will take place on Thursday, March 5 at 2 PM at Jugend Square.
The position of students has already been weakened enough.
