1. Blood donation at TAMK 12 February

Once again it’s the time to give up some blood when FRC Blood Service comes to TAMK. On Wednesday, 12 February between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, come to the main campus (building B next to the dining area) and reach your helping hand! This event is accessible, so you can get to the place with the elevator.

If you’re unsure about your eligibility to donate, you can take an online test here (choose “In English” in the top left corner) and the momentarily blood need you can check here. Bring your ID card with you, because a student card isn’t enough. You’ll also need a Finnish social security number so that you can donate!

You can also get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from the event!

2. TR3fest 18 February

TR3fest is a city festival that brings together all higher education students of Tampere to Kuivaamo on Tuesday 18 February! This urban city festival offers casual merriment, live music, activity points and food booths! The event tickets are on sale in kide.app bit.ly/tr3fest-liput right now at the price of 5 euros! The tickets include the festival, bus rides and the after party.

The main performers are Retropop, who plays electronic Finnish pop, and Uniklubi, who has had a long career in Finnish rock! In addition, a DJ and students’ own bands will be performing. The event is organised by the Student Union of Tampere University, The Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences and TREY’s event section Kollektiivi in cooperation with the students of Police University College.

3. Tamko’s evening 19 February

Welcome to play board games, sew overall patches’ and meet new people on 19 February at 5pm! You can bring some games, activities etc. with you. 🙂 Tamko offers evening snack!
You will get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from this event. Please note that the happening is non-alcoholic. Welcome to the Solu!

4. Tolu’s weekly sports shift is cancelled on Tuesday, Feb 11 – Come try Archery-tag instead!

Tolu’s weekly sports shift has been cancelled this week. Instead, as part of Akateeminen Mahti’s talviliikuntaviikko (winter sports week), there will be a chance to try Archery-tag for the low price of 2€. Archery-tag is like a mixture between paintball and dodgeball, where you try to tag opponents with soft tipped arrows.

5. Student, join C-Lab and learn how to make an impact, a profit, or both – 5 ECTS available!

C-Lab is an 8-week sprint in which you’ll learn how to get a service or a product ready to launch. You and your diverse team will partner with a local startup or research team to develop a real, implementable commercialization plan. Apply by 23 February!

If you don’t know what the word commercialization means or it sounds scary or corporate, worry not! Commercialization is simply the process of bringing new products or services to market. And C-Lab is an opportunity to do exactly that!

In C-Lab, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and in addition to Monday sessions, you’ll have weekly team meetings with your team and partner. The whole workload will be around 10-15 hours/week that equals 5 ECTS.

6. CLINT spring 2020 – Stockholm and St. Petersburg

– CLINT’s Stockholm cruise 18.3.

The CLINT Stockholm Cruise is here again, so get ready to set sail and cross the Baltic Sea! Join us for a visit to our Western Neighbour, see its gorgeous capital, and experience the Finnish cruise culture.

The trip duration is 3 days, with departure on Wednesday the 18th and arrival on Friday the 20th. The ticket includes two nights in a four-person cabin as well as the transportation from Tampere to Helsinki and back. Price for the trip is 55€ for Tamko members and 65€ for non-members.
