1. Vote in Council elections!
Tamko Council elections’ electronic voting will be carried out 20th of October, starting at 10am and ending on 3rd of November at 3pm. Council elections’ ballot box voting will be carried out on 3rd of November at 9am – 3pm. All Tamko members who have paid the membership payment and registered as an attending student for the study year, are eligible to vote in the Council elections.
Voting ID and the link for the electronic voting system has been sent to members’ formal TUNI email addresses and in some exceptions to some other email address which the member has informed to Tamko member register. Members who have joined to Tamko during the electronic voting period will receive the voting ID and link right away to their email.
A total of 48 candidates are standing as a candidate in the Council elections on 7 different lists: Tradenomit, Ville tahtoo leiman, Oikeisto-opiskelijat, Soittomediapolis, SoTen Valitut Palat, Insinöörit and Palveluliiketoiminta. More information about the Council elections, lists and the candidates can be found from Tamko’s website.
Council elections will be held as an proportional representation of a list. The voter thus votes not only the candidate but also the list. The composition of the selected Council depends on the popularity of the lists.
2. Enrollment period to become an International Tutor 25.10.-14.11.2021
Tutors are making sure that new exchange students of TAMK arriving in August are integrating to TAMK, Tampere and Finland. International tutoring is a great way to get new international friends and to create networks around the world! Tamko will be training all the new International Tutors in TAMK and supports them along the way. There will be two training evenings this autumn for selected tutors. The tutoring will be taking place on the spring semester 2022. You’ll also get an extra point from tutoring if you’re leaving for an exchange yourself. Tutors will also need to fill up final report in order to get 2 study credits. Apply here.
3. Degree tutors, application period 11th of October until 14th of November 2021
Degree tutors are helping out new degree students of TAMK. They are playing an important part in integrating new students to Tampere and TAMK. Degree tutors will gain new friendships and study credits: sounds like a great deal, huh? Degree tutors work with their Finnish peer tutor colleagues and meet the new students once a month during their first academic year 2022-2023. Enroll here.
4. Tamko’s new harassment contacts
Tamko’s harassment contacts Nora and Amanda have been joined by three new harassment contacts: Lounatuuli, Ronja and José! You can reach all harassment contacts via email harassment@tamko.fi, and separately via harassment.name@tamko.fi. Nora, Amanda and Ronja can help you in English and Finnish, Lounatuuli in English, Finnish and Portuguese and José in English, Spanish and French!
Tamko harassment contacts support and give advice to students who have experienced disturbance of any form. Our contacts don’t document names and they have full professional confidentiality. Therefore, Tamko Harassment contacts can’t discuss their cases even with Tamko’s board. Also, they are students, just like you. If you feel like you are in need of support, please contact our harassment contacts!
5. Come and have coffee at Solu!
Tamko’s office Solu is opening again for students from Monday (25.10.) onwards. We’re offering coffee or tea, Tamko member services, comfy sofas and exhilarating company. Welcome to have coffee from Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
6. Coronavaccination bus at TAMK main campus on 27 October
Coronavaccination bus is arriving to TAMK main campus on Wednesday, October 27th at 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. The bus is located at Kuntokatu side entrance. International students are also welcome to have their vaccination free of charge!
You can get your first, second or third coronavaccination from the bus without an appointment. The first vaccination is offered to people aged 12 or over, the second for people whose first dose was at least six weeks ago and the third dose is for those who got their second dose over six months ago or if they belong to risk groups 1 or 2.
NB! The third vaccination isn’t currently offered for men under 30 years of age, except for those individuals who are severely immunocompromised.
7. Tolu’s weekly sports shift 26th of October (dodge ball)
Tolu’s drop-in sports shift again at 26th of October from 17:00 to 19:00. It’s dodge ball time! You don’t need SportUni membership in order to attend, just say you’re coming to Tolu’s weekly sport shift at the customer service desk. All TAMK students and faculty are welcome.
8. SportUni course enrollment opens on Mon 25 Oct
The second enrollment period of SportUni courses begins on Mon 25 October at 9.00 and lasts until 3 November. A wide variety of courses are offered from different sports and for beginners and experienced exercisers. Check out the offering on our Courses website and enroll.
SportUni offers a single max. 30 € course for free in the fall 2021 period. Register for the courses in the normal way and leave one of your chosen max. 30 € course fee unpaid. You can attend several courses, but only one (max. 30 €) is free. This benefit doesn’t apply courses that cost more than 30 €. There are a limited number of places for the courses. Participation in the courses requires a valid sports fee. You can get more info from SportUni’s customer service.
9. What´s the audit all about?
TAMK’s quality system is being audited and on 24th–25th November 2021 the audit group will visit TAMK. In the audit, the focus is on the procedures used by the Higher Education Institution to maintain and enhance the quality of its activities. Come to hear and discuss about the upcoming quality system audit on Monday 1st of November at 10-12 in Zoom. Welcome! More information and event link.
10. Meet Up – new group for TAMK international students!
Meet Up is a small group for the international students of TAMK, where you will get some tips and guidance for helping with your well-being, stress management, studying methods and support from your fellow students. The group meets on Wednesdays 10.11.–8.12. The meetings will be 1.5-2 hours long and we will meet 5 times total.More information: Meet Up – group for the international students of TAMK (tuni.fi)
11. Tolu’s paintball excursion Nov 11th
Tolu arranges a paintball excursion to Lempäälä on Thursday Nov 11th at 17:00. Tickets will be sold on Kide.app starting on Monday Oct 25th. Grab yours, squad up and come compete with Tolu

With NyytiCoaching, this is possible! The coaching process includes three meetings, which are conducted online. The coaches are certified professionals. Coaching is aimed at students in the final stages of their studies at universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as doctoral students throughout Finland. 13. Tolu ry mandated fall assembly
Tolu ry will have the mandated fall assembly 29th of November at 17:00. The assembly location on the campus will be informed later. All TAMK students are welcome to participate. A new board will be chosen for the 2022-2023 term in the fall assembly.
