As a Tamko member, you will get a national student card that entitles you to thousands of student benefits around Finland. Benefits include all national student discounts, hundreds of discounts negotiated by Opiskelijan Tampere (Student’s Tampere) and Tamko’s own membership benefits.
National benefits
Kela (the Social Insurance Institution of Finland)
- Student lunch price in all student restaurants covered by meal subsidies. To receive the benefit, you must present a student card with the Kela logo.
VR (Finnish government-owned railway company)
- 30 % discount on long-distance single and multi-tickets. 50 % discount on commuter trains on single and multi-tickets.
Matkahuolto (Finnish bus company)
- Student and other discount tickets can be bought from their website.
- Up-to-date price information is available on their website at matkahuolto.fi. Student-priced tickets can be purchased on Matkahuolto website, mobile application, Matkahuolto offices and from travel agencies.
Show your student card where ever you go!
- Student card will gain access to many other discounts around Finland. Show your card at museums, coffee houses, restaurants, etc. and you’ll see how much money you save!
- With a student card, you get countless discounts on museums, sport events, swimming pools, theaters, etc. So you get every national student benefit that you can imagine!
Tamko benefits
Campusravita Oy
- Campus restaurant Campusravita offers -0,10€ discount from student benefited lunch by showing Tamko’s student card. You’ll also get a 10 % discount from all products at Campusravita! (Note! This discount does not include special lunches or grill meals.)
- With a Tamko student card you get a -0,10 € discount on the price of a basic student lunch every day. And with a Tamko student and Tamko membership card you get 10 % off all products sold by Campusravita! (NOTE! The discount does not apply to special lunches or grill meals.)
Norlandia Tampere Hotel
- Accommodation services near the Kuntokatu campus. Accommodation for Tamko members at a student-friendly price, including breakfast and a customer sauna. Make a reservation by calling +358 50 384 4400 or by emailing tampere@norlandia.com. Be prepared to show your student card.

Scandic hotels
- Bookings only through Scandic website by adding the Tamko discount code to your booking. You will get the most discount by booking early and paying at the time of booking.

Slice
Slice is Finland’s largest student benefits service and the official digital student card application, which has been working towards a better student life since 2018.
Student benefits are conveniently found for Tamko members in the student card application, which allows you to browse and redeem thousands of student benefits in different fields in different locations. Even students who are not entitled to Kela, Matkahuolto and VR benefits can still take advantage of thousands of Slice student benefits with the application.

Opiskelijan Tampere benefits (Student’s Tampere)
Opiskelijan Tampere negotiates student benefits to Tamko and TREY (Student Union of Tampere University). There are over 300 student discounts at the moment in Pirkanmaa area. Opiskelijan Tampere also offers information about Tampere and a free housing service platform for students and landlords to leave their housing advertisements. Student Tampere negotiates student benefits for Tamko, TREY (Student Union of Tampere University), Polamko (Student Union of Police University College) HAMKO (Student Union of Häme University of Applied Sciences) and OSKU ry. Currently, there are over 300 benefits available in the Pirkanmaa and more are being negotiated all the time.
You can find information about current student benefits on the Student’s Tampere website. The free housing section on the website provides information about student apartments and you can also search there for a roommate. The website also contains student events in Tampere and all the information you need to study in Tampere.

Eckerö Line
- UAS student card (AMK-opiskelijakortti) offers discounts on Eckerö Line’s route and cruise trips. For more information, visit www.eckeroline.fi/AMK (unfortunately the website is only in Finnish).
