4. Happo's Winter Madness 7 February

Christmas holiday is over and we are getting back to school routine. We have a nice little jump out of the school stress as Happo ry arranges their yearly Talvirieha (Crazy winter outdoor event).

So gather up your pals, dress warmly and get to Sorsapuisto on the 7th of February starting at 18:00. The happening will go on until 21:00, as long as there are plenty on energized people on the move! From Sorsapuisto we can continue our journey towards Ilona where the Haalaribileet (overall party) are held.

At Happo ry's Talvirieha you can activate yourself in many ways, such as downhill sledding, eating grilled sausages (for a small price of 0,50€) and other outdoor activities.

5. Game designing course

Tampere University Gamification Group is organizing a course hosting workshop series on the topics of body, wearables and games. In these workshops, we will give a close look to distinct facets of these interdisciplinary topics by bringing together players and professionals from different related disciplines. Our aim in this course is to explore the integration of body data and wearables to gameplay of various game genres. At the end of this course, students will understand using design methods (brainstorming, bodystorming, rough prototyping, video sketching) in the ideation stage of products and will gain hands-on experience in working on a design project with an interdisciplinary team. Moreover, they will also learn the basic design features of wearables and body-related games and will actively ideate on their relation to game mechanics.

"TIE-11206, Special Topics on Pervasive Computing" is open for undergraduate and graduate students. For undergraduates, we expect students to have some kind of previous gaming experience. Come and join the party in the most sparkling and glamorous night club of the city, Viihdemaailma Ilona! (Verkatehtaankatu 3). This time the party theme is going to be "Under the Sea".

Doors open in Ilona at 21:00. Tickets: 3,30 € in advance from Bailataan.fi or 5€ from the door. Advance tickets include passage past the regular queue until 23:00. We wish that cloakroom would only be used for coats, not for backbags or bags.
