5. Your email address changes at the turn of the year

We keep on building the new unified IT infrastructure and will make some big changes to the present one. These changes will effect every person in our higher education community.

All the members of the higher education community of Tampere will automatically be given a new e-mail address firstname.lastname@tuni.fi beginning from 31.12.2018. The personal contents of old uta.fi, tut.fi and tamk.fi Office365 accounts (e-mail, calendars, contacts OneDrive) are copied automatically on a new TUNI account.

The e-mail sent to the old uta.fi, tut.fi and tamk.fi e-mail addresses is directed automatically to a new tuni.fi address for at least two years.

Activate your new user account in December beginning from week 50. During the activation, you will not be asked for your personal information, user account or password.

Be prepared for service breaks before and after the turn of the year

Please note that there will be limited use of Office 365 between 28.12.-31.12.2018

Start using your new @tuni.fi email address beginning from 31.12.2018

Keep yourself informed about the forthcoming changes by following Changes in services -pages on the Intranet. Find additional information also at info2019.tuni.fi site.

6. Unipoli Sport's Christmas spin 18 December

Unipoli Sport is having a Christmas spinning class on Tuesday 18 December at 5 - 6 PM in TAMK Sports Arena (TAMK campus). The spinning class is normal but there's going to be Christmas music and you're adviced to wear red clothes and a santa hat. After the class you can go to the Christmas sauna, so take your towel with you! '

7. Get ready for service breaks and changes in online services at the end of the year

In our higher education community, significant changes will be made to online services especially around New Year. Be prepared that there will be service breaks in even the most important online services during the last week of December and first week of January in particular. Further information on the dates and effects of the changes is forthcoming. Take note of the breaks when you plan your work schedule for the end of the year and January.

Best wishes, IT Services
