1. Tamko's Alkumetri 5 September

Alkumetri is one of the four annual parties organized by the Students' Union Tamko. This event is THE way to start your academic year, so be ready, be fast, and prepare yourself so you won't miss the tickets!

Pre sale tickets (3€ for Tamko members, 5€ for others) are sold from Tamko's office (Solu) and mobile application Bailataan.fi. We'll inform you of the exact sales date in the FB-event!

This year Alkumetri's theme is going to be "First day of school". You might get costume inspiration from your old childhood photos.

2. Tamko's Tursajaiset 12 September

Tursajaiset is an annual initiation rite for new students, where your status as a student in TAMK get's it's rightful measures. 

We begin our journey on 12 September at 12.00 as a big parade and together we head to Keskustori where you'll have your rite of passage. From Keskustori the parade heads to the Golden Kingdom of Tursas, where you, recently assigned Tursas, have the opportunity to participate in a checkpoint competition in teams.

The daytime event is free for all the new students, but the pre-sale tickets for the Afterparty in FatLady costs 5€ (7€ for non-members) or 7€ from door. Tickets are later available at Solu, please keep an eye on our Facebook event.

PS. If you happen to bring a "juice"bottle of your own, please make it plastic or aluminium one, Thank you!

3. Tamko pop up offices at Mediapolis and Music Academy campuses

Tamko is having a pop up office at Music Academy's campus lobby area on 11 September at 10am - 2pm and at Mediapolis Campus orange area on Tuesday 18 September at 10am - 2pm. 

Services: guidance, study year stickers, Unipoli Sport fees, overall batches, membership fee payment and membership applications. You can pay by cash or with a card. 

NB! If you've ordered a student card, you can pick it up only from our office (Solu) at  Kuntokatu Main Campus. 

In addition, we're keeping our Kuntokatu Main Campus office open exceptionally on Satuday 1 September at 10am - 2pm. If you're not able to visit us on weekdays, you're welcome to pop by on 1st of September!

4. Student's Tampere Autumn festival 3 September

What would be better than starting study days in Särkänniemi? Student's Tampere and Särkänniemi will provide you with this opportunity this year! All the rides are open, so there is a lot of stuff to do for the whole evening. Plus there's a great band, OT will also bring interesting exhibitors from Tampere, so that all the fresmen will get to know what Tampere has to offer for students. 

Tickets are available at Tamko's office Solu now, so be quick and get your 9€ ticket for the best kick-off event, SyysFest! NB! The event is for students only, so in addition to the ticket, the participant needs a valid student card. 

5. Welcome to play Finnish baseball on Wednesdays!

We're having weekly games of Finnish baseball on Kauppi water tower's field  from 5PM to 6.30PM on Wednesdays. The field is located at Kaupinkatu 2, 33500 Tampere, so it is about 1 kilometer away from Kauppi Sports Park. Baseball gloves, balls and bats are available if you need one. You don't need to be a student nor have a Unipoli Sports membership. We expect all players to know the rules of the game. More info: +358408358318/Veera Järvinen. 

6. NamiAppro 11 September

Are you ready for a feast? The sweetest event in Tampere is here again! 

Bioner, the guild of bioengineering, organizes the sweetest cafeteria round on Tuesday 11th of September at 13-21. This time the event celebrates its 10-year anniversary, so come tour the cafés around Tampere and celebrate with us a decade of NamiAppro. This is a great chance to find your new favourite cafeterias and get to know downtown Tampere! The event is alcohol-free, but a sugar high and post-performance nausea are guaranteed.

Tickets will be sold for 5 euros including a map, an overall badges and after event at TTT-Theatre. This time the starting points are located in Hervanta, Tammela and Ratina, and all the cafeterias can be seen at www.namiappro.fi/en/. You have till 20 to complete your diplomas, after which the event will continue till 21 at TTT-Theatre. Ticket sale is organized at TAMK B1-05a (opposite of Campusravita) / Tue 4.9. / at 10 am. 

One person can buy two tickets on campus ticket sales. NamiAppro is organized since 2008 by Bioner the guild of bioengineering. You can check more information at NamiAppro's website

7. Science Café - Mathematician James Grime "Bits and Pieces" 12 September

Autumn's first Science Café is held at 6PM on Wednesday 12 September at Metso Library's Lehmus hall. This time we're having mathematician James Grime as a speaker with a topic "Bits and pieces". 

Grime is going to tell about for example how messages can be communicated to space without any flaws. We're also going to see on live how one can drill a hole in a CD without stoping the music! Welcome to join us with this journey from wars to social media!

The event is open and free for everyone, welcome!

8. Women’s floorball team SBS Tamppi is looking for new players for the upcoming season!

Floorball team SBS Tamppi is looking for new and enthusiastic players for the upcoming season of 2018-2019. The team is formed by female students from TAMK, University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology and plays in women’s second division. Trainings are held in Hervanta, at Tamppi Areena.
