1. Portti työelämään - recruiting event at TAMK 22 - 24 January 2019

Portti työelämään (Gateway to working life) is a recruiting event for TAMK students. In the event, local and national organizations come to TAMK to meet their future talents. The organizations are offering different kinds of work, internship and thesis opportunities plus a chance to communicate with them face-to-face.

The event will take place on three days: 22 January – 24 January 2019 at 10am – 2pm. The first day is for technology branches, second for information technology, programming, business and marketing. The final day is for social and health, restaurant and travelling, art & media, communication and music branches. You can find all the participating organizations and the electronic exhibition brochure from event's website.

The event is organized by Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Tamko) in cooperation with TAMK’s recruiting services, Student Associations and clubs.

 

2. Student's Tampere presents: Spring's Supervihko

Spring’s Supervihko with full of student discounts will be out for you in January. Be fast and grab yours from Tamko's office Solu when they’re still available! New leaflet includes glorious new benefits from i.e. Partioaitta, Jamera, Pyöräkauppa Keskiö, Tampereen Työväen Teatteri and Kauppuri5.



3. Tolu's Winter Sports week 28 January - 1 February

Tolu Winter Sports week is approaching! During the last week of January (Jan 28th - Feb 1st), there will be opportunities to take part in various outdoor and indoor sports activities. We are planning a billiards tournament, bowling, outdoor-curling, hockey, sledding as well as a few other surprises. If you’re interested, keep your eyes on both Tamko Topics and on Tolu’s own channels in Facebook and Instagram. You can find us @urheiluseuratolu.



4. Nothing can stop me -event 15 February

Mikään ei voi pysäyttää mua" (Nothing can stop me) is an event where you can meet people from different backgrounds. Welcome to join us on 15 February at 17:00 - 20:00 to culture house Laikku (Kulttuuritalo Laikku). We are going to have two guests Habiba Ali and Sirwa Farik who are going to tell us about the ups and downs that they've experienced.

During the evening we will also see a dance performance and rap group Viiz's music video premiere. There's also going to be live music during the evening. The aim of the event is to bring together people from different backgrounds. We want to share experiences and point of views on life in Finland. Welcome to share your own experiences and thoughts on relaxed and safe atmosphere.

5. Pistot goes Caribbean 24 January

It's time again to get your friends together and head to this years first PISTOT-party. Take out your coconut bras and pirate hats and get away from the cold darkness of Finnish January to Union Work and Leisure Club on 24th. This is a party you don't want to miss!

Union opens at 21:30 and the party doesn’t stop until 05:00. You can get theme-related drinks on student friendly prices. Costume ideas can be found from Punanaamio where you can get 20% off from your purchase by showing your PISTOT party pass.

Advance tickets (3€) are available at Tamko's office Solu. You can also get the tickets from door with a price of 5€.

Please note that there will be a photographer in the event and the pictures will be posted on PISTOT-site.

PISTOT is organized by TAMK's student associations TTO ry, TIRO ry and PIRATE ry.



6. Inssikyykkä 2 February

Is your kyykkä tooth aching? Can`t wait for the World Championships of Academic Kyykkä? Have no fear, Inssikyykkä is here on 2nd of February, starting at 12:00!

TIRO ry and the engineering guilds are offering you a chance to improve your skills for the upcoming World Championships. once again we'll be offering you a chance for glory, fame and prizes, that a small engineering student can only dream of. The prizes for the top teams include team positions to Inssibeerpong and World Championships of Academic Kyykkä. If you don’t manage to get to the top three, do not worry: everyone participating to the event will receive an overall patch and there will be hot cocoa, juice and sausages for the hungry ones.

So collect a team of four (4), march to Tamko's office Solu and sign up for the event and arrive on 2 February at 12:00 to Solu. Signing up costs 10 € / team. Solu's sauna is warm whole day so that you can get in right after the games. After party is held at night club ROSKA. All the players will get a free entrance before midnight. After midnight the price 7€. You can use your overalls if you like.

7. Free English Language Comedy Thursday 17 January

Come and enjoy free English language comedy at O'Connell's Irish Bar on 17th of January at 20:00 This time Comedy O'Connell's presents, Poppycock!

Poppycock is Trent, Tuure, Boris and Ulla; 4 improvisers based in Tampere who have played together for 5 years. While they all come from different cultural and professional backgrounds, they are tied together by their love of being playful, fast, and bold on stage. Their performances are a testament to what can happen when friends get together to act like fools.
