1. Become an International Tutor!

Tamko is training again new international tutors this spring for autumn semester to help our incoming exchange students. In the trainings we will cover for example practical matters concerning the arrival of the exchange students, tutor’s responsibilities and culture shock.

The training will take place on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th of April at 5pm-8pm in auditorium G00-10. We'll invite all participants to a team brief to hear more about tutoring and ask questions.

Coffee and sandwiches are served in the trainings. You'll get a bunch of nice experiences, a lot of new friends and study credits. When the course is done, you'll get also an extra point when applying to the exchange.

You can register for the training by following the link. Registration ends on Wednesday 28th of March 2018. Questions? Contact: international(at)tamko.fi

Welcome to the world of tutoring!

2. Tamko presents: Loppumetri 2018 - Live Kasmir

The moment we've all been waiting for! LOPPUMETRI2018 is here! This is THE party to finish the hard school year. This year's LOPPUMETRI will be held in UNION - Work and Leisure Club Wednesday 18th of April at 22.00 - 04.00.

One of the most popular artists in Finland right now, Kasmir, will make sure that this party will be epic. You don't want to miss this, so keep your eyes on this event page! Tickets (3€) now available at Solu!

More information and the ticket competition at Facebook event.

3. Tamko is seeking two new harassment contact persons!

What on earth is a harassment contact person? Bullying and sexual harassment do not belong in TAMK or any other place of study and work. Tamko has had assumed male and female harassment contacts for years, who are students at TAMK. These harassment contacts provide help and guidance for students who have experienced disturbance in any form. We do not document these cases and the contact people have full confidentiality.

The chosen persons for the position will be trained for the part, so we are searching for emphatic, listening and reliable students of different educations. We also hope for good written and spoken Finnish skills. Harassment contact person activity is being developed  continuously and we will have a campaign about students awareness of these matters during fall 2018.

If you are interested, send a free-formed application to opiskelijaedustajat(at)tamko.fi. Read more about the activity or the current harassment contact persons from Tamko's website.

4. Blood donation at TAMK

Once again it's the time to give up some blood when FRC Blood Service comes to TAMK. On Wednesday, March 28th between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, come to the main campus (building B next to the dining area) and reach your helping hand. If you're unsure about your eligibility to donate, you can take an online test here (choose "In English" in the top left corner) and the momentarily blood need you can check here. Please remember to bring your ID card. You can also get a stamp on your Tursaspassi from the event!
