1. Vote in Council elections – ballot box voting on Wednesday!

Tamko Council elections’ electronic voting is carried out from 23rd of October to 6th of November (ending at 3pm). Council elections’ ballot box voting will be carried out on 6th of November at 9am – 3pm. All Tamko members who have paid the membership payment and registered as an attending student for the study year, are eligible to vote in the Council elections.

Voting ID and the link for the electronic voting system has been sent to members’ formal TUNI email addresses and in some exceptions to some other email address which the member has informed to Tamko member register. Members who have joined to Tamko during the electronic voting period will receive the voting ID and link right away to their email.

A total of 67 candidates are standing as a candidate in the Council elections on 7 different lists: Insinööri, Yhden tähden, SoTen Valitut Palat, Palvelun ammattilaiset, Kokoomus, Soittomediapolista and Tradenomit. More information about the Council elections, lists and the candidates can be found from Tamko’s website.

Council elections will be held as an proportional representation of a list. The voter thus votes not only the candidate but also the list. The composition of the selected Council depends on the popularity of the lists.

2. Enroll now for degree tutoring!

Enrollment for international and degree tutoring is now on! You can enroll for international tutoring by 3 November and for Degree tutoring by 17 November.

Degree tutors are helping out new degree students of TAMK. They are playing an important part in integrating new students to Tampere and Finland. Degree tutors will gain new friendships and study credits: sounds like a great deal, huh? The training aims to train foreign students to work as degree tutors with their Finnish peer tutor colleagues.

3. Council elections questionnaire

A group of TAMK business students is conducting a questionnaire about Tamko’s Council elections. The aim of the questionnaire is to research students’ level of knowledge about Council elections. It takes about two minutes to answer, so please help out your fellow students! We’re raflling a prize among those who have answered. The questionnaire is open till 6th November and you can answer it by clickin this link. Thank you for your time!

4. Apply to Tamko’s Board!

Would you be interested in joining Tamko as a board member? Tamko is having an open meeting at Tamko’s office sauna facilities on 5 November at 4.30pm. The open meeting is meant for students who are pondering on applying to Tamko’s board. The event starts with an open meeting and continues as a relaxed social evening with Tamko’s Board members with whom the students will have an opportunity to discuss about the different Board tasks.

You do not need to be a candidate in the Representative Council elections in order to serve on the Tamko Board. The new Board members will be elected at the first meeting of the newly elected Representative Council on 25 November. starting at 5 pm in the auditorium of the main campus E1-06. All TAMK students can apply for the board. Please note that Board’s working language is Finnish.

5. Portti työelämään – Gateway to Work-life 21. – 23 January 2020

Portti työelämään recruiting event comes again! The event is held at TAMK main campus lobby area on 21 – 23 January 2020 at 10am – 2pm. Welcome to fetch a work, trainee or thesis place!

The event is free for TAMK students and aims to create a low-threshold meeting place for students and representatives of different organizations. Event days are themed according to different fields of study but you should keep an eye on all event days and find the organizations which are the most interesting to you.

There’s a wide range of organizations attending to Portti työelämään and you can find the full listing of them from Portti työelämään website, Facebook event and later from the event catalogue.
Check out the most interesting organizations from the listing and bring your CV with you.

In need of a CV prepping? No worries, you can get your CV checked at TAMK working life services’ CV stand in the event. There’s also an opportunity to have your photo taken by a professional photographer in a CV photo booth.

6. Tolu’s weekly sports shift 5 November

Tolu organizes a 2-hour drop-in sports shift every Tuesday from 5PM – 7PM at TAMK’s sports hall. We’ll play a different sport each week and on next time it’s going to be floorball!

All TAMK students and staff are welcome to join, and there is no skill requirements. We just want to get you moving. We provide all the gear except for your sports attire and indoor playing shoes. You don’t need a SportUni membership in order to attend, just say to customer service desk that you’re coming to Tolu’s sport shift.

7. Tolu’s Megazone 18 November

Tolu organizes 4 hour laser tag evening at Megazone on 18th November at 8pm – midnight! There will be different kind of laser tag games during the night, so if you haven’t played laser tag before we will start from the basics and you’ll become a true laser tag champion before midnight. Tickets can be purchased at Tolu’s web-store Holvi.

Be quick. There is only limited amount of laser guns. Dress some comfy dark clothes, bring water bottle, maybe some snack and towel. Be on time. not later than 19:40. HAVE FUN!

8. Help fellow students – answer to a survey and win movie tickets!

A group of students is conducting a customer satisfaction survey for TIER e-scooters. Help out fellow school mates and answer! Answering takes about 5 minutes and as a thanks, you’ll have a chance to win movie tickets! The survey is also a great chance to give feedback and to have an impact in TIER services. The survey is open ’till 10 November. Thank you for your time!

9. Tolu’s fall climbing excursion 13 November

Are you ready to reach new heights? Tired of keeping your feet on the ground? Join tolu for a fun climbing excursion on November 13th at 6pm. For the low price of 5€, you can come climbing at the Irti Maasta climbing gym at Tullintori for an hour. You don’t have to have any previous experience, as there will be an instructional session that everybody has to attend before we start climbing. So get some friends together and come get some easy, fun exercise. Tickets can be bought through Solu, or our online store Holvi. The link for the online store is on our Facebook event page.

10. Music quiz night 20 November

On Wednesday the 20th of November, you have the opportunity to show off your extensive music knowledge to your fellow students – and win prizes for it! Grab your mates, and come on down to Olympia for a cozy evening of quiz, beer and atmosphere. Pick a mixed team – the categories are quite diverse!
 
Student ID will give you 15% off in the bar. Participation is free: just show up and join a table.
 
The door opens at 19:00, and the quiz starts at 20:00 sharp. So be on time.
